These biopolymers are home and industrially compostable and will biodegrade if leaked to nature. Our innovative technology ensures low carbon footprint and assures sustainability and affordability.

Why we do it

At PHAsT, we are motivated by our deep-rooted quest to contribute towards a green and pollution free world. For this reason, our products are carefully designed to retain the benefits of traditional plastics while eliminating their harmful effects on the environment. At the end of their life, our materials are recyclable or can be utilized completely as food by bacteria in the soil and marine environments. In the human or animal’s body, our materials degrade into bioresorbable harmless natural metabolites via a controllable surface erosion mechanism.

Why we are different.

Our natural biopolymers are reputed for their excellent biocompatibility. This means that they are a lovely substrate that support the attachment and growth of many human and animal cells and in vivo conditions.

PHAsT is pioneering the commercial production of special types of PHAs whose properties are mimetic to soft tissues of the body, favouring their wide application in the biomedical space.

We have in our portfolio, a variety of PHAs with wide ranging mechanical and thermal properties, making it possible for our customers to obtain tailored polymeric blends for their specific needs.

Our materials are highly versatile and therefore suitable for customers looking to implement biodegradable plastics in their family of products in the fields of packaging, personal care & cosmetics, adhesives, coatings, agriculture, and medicine, among others.

Courtesy of the advancement of our technology, all our products exhibit high batch to batch consistency. Our bioplastics are easily processable with many conventional plastic processing methods and novel additive manufacturing technologies.

Thanks to our optimised purification process, we will be the first to offer PHAs with different purity levels, from research grade up to medical grade.
